Works Council

To my understanding change processes have to be designed and managed such that the results are viable for all parties involved. The overall objective is to maintain or increase the profitability and the competiveness of the company.

Works councils are increasingly faced with complex challenges. It may be necessary to take advice from external consultants ( § 80 WCA) in order to fulfill the duties and rights.

Consultancy areas are in particular

• Analysis of business processes
• Restructuring / outsourcing
• Cost reduction projects
• Rationalization projects
• Organizational development
• Headcount planning
• Development and introduction of new product lines and services
• Introduction of new technologies

The consultancy will support the works council to assess the respective impacts on the organization, the skill requirements, and headcount levels, and to define action plans. Participation in negotiations with the employer or an investor is possible, too.
